MOUNT OF OLIVES AND GARDEN OF GETHSEMANE – DAY ONE

Mount of Olives is located to the east of Jerusalem across the Kidron Valley and its height reaches 2641 feet above the Mediterranean Sea.  Most of the recorded incidents associating Jesus with this Mount belong in the Passion Week (Matthew 21:1; 24:3; 26:30; Mark: 11:1; 13:3; 14:26; Luke: 19:29, 37; 21:37; John 8:1).

Garden of Gethsemane is the place where Jesus often went to pray. It was the place of Jesus’ agony, His betrayal, and arrest (Matthew 26:36; Mark 14:32). The present garden contains 8 ancient olive trees. It is located east of the old city of Jerusalem.
