Masada is an immense brown cliff, about 2 miles from the western shore of the Dead Sea in the wilderness of Judah. Herod the Great made a fortification out of this huge plateau.
Ein Gedi is a lush area in and otherwise arid region. “No photos for this location” In the Old Testament, this area was known as Hazaontamar (II Chronicles 20:2). It was the territory of Judah (Joshua 15:62) also see I Samuel 23:29 & 24 and Song of Solomon 1:14.
Qumran lies on the northwest corner of the Dead Sea. “No photos for this location” This site was made famous by the greatest archaeological find of the 20th century – The Dead Sea Scrolls.
